On April 25,1965, Jerry West of Los Angeles averaged 46.3 points per game in the series as the Lakers defeated the Baltimore Bullets in six games in the 1965 Western Division Finals — they would go on to lose to the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. West scored at least 40 points in every game of the series, posting the highest scoring average for a playoff series in NBA history. West was one of the most clutch NBA players of all time, hence his nickname “Mr. Clutch,” and is a Hall of Famer as a player and is an all-time executive as well.
