Oscar Robertson was the first Milwaukee Buck inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1979. Robertson, nicknamed the Big O, was a 12-time All-Star and 11-time member of the All-NBA Team. He played point guard for the Cincinnati Royals and Milwaukee Bucks. Robertson helped the Bucks win their 1971 championship title and finished his career with 26,710 points and 9,887 assists. He was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History in 1996 and, two years later, the United States Basketball Writers Association renamed their College Player of the Year Award the Oscar Robertson Trophy in his honor. Robertson was inducted into the hall of fame agin in 2010 for being a part of the 1960 United States men’s Olympic Basketball team and for his role as president of the National Basketball Players Association.
