Pete Rose ended his 44-game hitting streak during a 1976 game against the Atlanta Braves. His streak received a lot of media attention even though he was still more than 10 games shy of Joe DiMaggio’s 56-game hitting streak. Rose’s 44-hit streak put him in third place of the MLB’s all-time hitting records, behind Willie Keeler’s 45-game streak set in the 1897.
