In 2006, the Philadelphia 76ers traded Allen Iverson to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Andre Miller, Joe Smith and two first-round draft picks. Iverson requested the trade after spending 11 seasons with Philadelphia. In the 2000-01 season, he led the Sixers to their first finals since 1983. He scores a record-setting 48 points during Game 1 of the Playoffs. Iverson played 14 seasons as a point guard and shooting guard.  

High-scoring Iverson joined Carmelo Anthony on the Nuggets and helped the team into the postseason in both 2007 and 2008. One year after the trade to the Nuggets, Iverson was traded to the Detroit Pistons. 

Iverson was first overall draft pick in 1996 and was named Rookie of the Year his first season. He is an 11-time NBA All-Star, two-time  All-Star game MVP, and was the NBA’s MVP in 2001. The 76ers retired his no. 3 jersey and he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016
