In 1978, Golden State Warriors coach Al Attles became the 10th coach in NBA history to win 400 games. Attles  began his NBA career playing for the Philadelphia Warriors, later the San Francisco Warriors. He transitioned from player, player-coach, head coach, general manager, vice-president, and consultant. Attles was known for coaching the Warriors to a four-game sweep of the Washington Bullets in the 1975 NBA Finals. His number 16 jersey was retired by the Warriors. Alvin won NBA All-Star Game head coach awards and a Chuck Daly Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
