Today in Sports History: December 8

On December 8, 1992, the Hawks’ Dominique Wilkins set an NBA record for most free throws made without a miss, with 23. Wilkins wound up with 42 points on the night as Atlanta beat Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls team. Best known for his incredible dunks and performances in Slam Dunk contests, it makes sense that “The Human Highlight Film” made it to the line so often as such an aggressive player. For his incredible career and impact on basketball, Wilkins was inducted to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
