In 2004, the New England Patriots defeated the Carolina Panther 32-29 in Super Bowl XXXVIII. The closely contested battle was a thrilling match, but Patriots Tom Brady proved to be too much for the Panthers to overcome. The game started out slow, and neither team scored until the 26:55 mark in the second quarter. However, the game picked up and by the end of the half New England led 14-10. The third quarter was quiet, but the teams then combined for a Super Bowl record 37 points in the fourth quarter. Ultimately the game was decided by Patriots kicker Adam Vinatieri, who made an impressive 41-yard field goal with four seconds left. Tom Brady was named Super Bowl MVP after leading the team with three passing touchdowns and 354 passing yards. The legendary quarterback, Brady will be making his 10th appearance in the 2021 Super Bowl as the quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
