Today in Sports History: February 4

On February 4, 1987, the Sacramento Kings managed only four points in the first quarter of a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, the fewest points in the first quarter by a team since the inclusion of the shot clock in the NBA in 1954. To add insult to injury, not only did the Kings score just four points during the first quarter, but they were outscored by the Lakers 40-4. The Kings went 0-18 from the field in the quarter, scoring their four points on free throws. The Kings eventually lost 128-92.
