On this day in 2019, Houston guard James Harden became the first player to score more than 55 points in back-to-back NBA games since Wilt Chamberlain. He bested Chamberlain’s record of scoring at least 30 points in 32 consecutive games. The third pick in the 2009 NBA draft, Harden is known for his elite ability to create shots, his passing skills, and his ability to draw fouls around the paint. Harden has been the NBA scoring champion for the last three years and was the NBA MVP in 2018. He has been with the Rockets since 2012 and led the team to the Western Conference Finals twice. Harden was recently traded by the Rockets to the Brooklyn Nets where he will team up with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. Harden’s other accolades include 6x All-NBA First team, NBA assists Leader 2017, and 8x NBA All-Star.
