In 1988, defending champion and American Professional Boxer Mike Tyson beat former titleholder and American Professional Boxer Larry Holmes by a technical knockout in round four. At the Convention Centre in Atlantic City, New Jersey Tyson came out strong and regained his heavyweight boxing title.Â
Tyson is the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and holds the record as the youngest boxer to win the World Boxing Council, World Boxing Association and International Boxing Federation heavyweight titles at only 20-years-old, 4 months, and 22 days.Â
Tyson won his first 19 professional fights by a knockout and 12 of them in the first round. Tyson’s career record includes 50 wins, including 44 knockouts, six losses, and two no contests.
