In 2019, tennis player Naomi Osaka was ranked no. 1 in the world and holds the title of becoming the first Japanese professional tennis player to win an Australian singles title. Osaka won 7-6, 5-7, 6-4 over Czech Republic professional tennis player, Petra Kvitová. Osaka won two Grand Slam championships including the U.S. Open in 2018, where she defeated Serena Williams, and in 2020 where she defeated Victoria Azarenka. She also won the 2019 Australian Open and 2021 Australian Open. Thus far, she has won seven singles titles.
