In 2021, American gymnast and four-time Olympic gold medallist, Simone Biles, withdrew from the women’s team final at the Summer Tokyo Olympic Games to focus on her mental health. She also missed the individual finals due to not feeling like herself.

Biles is a three-time all-around world champion, three-time world floor champion, two-time world balance beam champion, four-time US National all-around champion, and a member of the gold medal-winning American team in the 2014 and 2016 World Gymnastics Championships.

She also won four gold medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics and has set an American record for the most gold medals in women’s gymnastics at a single game.

While Biles cheered her team on from the sideline in the summer games, teammates Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, and Grace McCallum won the silver medal for the team competition.

She currently resides on mentally getting better for future competitions that she will compete in, but could not be prouder of her teammates to achieve the goals that they did.
