Dan Majerle set a then-playoffs record by scoring eight 3-pointers during the Game 5 of the 1993 Western Conference Finals. Majerle led the Phoenix Suns to a 120-114 win over the Seattle SuperSonics. He finished the game with 34 points. Majerle began his NBA career in 1988 and spent 14 years playing for the Suns, the Miami Heat, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He also won a bronze medal with the U.S. national team at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, and a gold medal at the 1994 FIBA World Championship. Majerle retied with 10,925 points and was inducted into the Phoenix Suns Ring of Honor in 2003. Five years later, he game the associate head coach of the Suns. In 2013, he became head coach of the Grand Canyon university basketball team and led them to their first tournament victory as a Division I team when they won the 2015 Global Sports Classic championship.
