In 2012, the University of Kentucky center, Anthony Davis, was the No. 1 overall draft pick for the NBA for the New Orleans Pelicans. 

Throughout his career, Davis was drafted to the New Orleans Pelicans in 2012 and played until 2018. He was then traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he currently plays. He has been named an eight-time NBA All-Star, four-time All-Defensive Team, four-time All-NBA Team, and All-Rookie Team in 2013. 

He has been awarded one NBA All-Star Most Valuable Player and one Olympic Gold Medal. Davis won a championship ring in 2020 with the Lakers and was a part of the 2012 USA Men’s basketball team that won the Gold Medal in the London Olympics. He is widely regarded as one of the most talented big men of his era.
