Karl Malone wins his second MVP trophy in 1998-99 season, becoming the 9th player in league history to win the award twice. Malone previously won MVP honors in the 1996-97 season. Malone, Bob Pettit, Time Duncan, Steve Nash, and Stephen Curry each have two MVP trophies. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar lets the league with six MVP trophies followed by Bill Russell and Michael Jordan with five each.
