Isiah Thomas tallied six assists during a Detroit Pistons versus Los Angeles Lakers game in 1994. He became the fourth guard in league history with over 9,000 career assists. Thomas was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History and is a 12-time All-Star. He began his NBA career with the Pistons in 1981 and was known for his skillful passing, dribbling ability, and leadership skills. He is the team’s all-time leader in points, steals, games played, and assists. The team retired his no. 11 jersey and Thomas was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2000. After his playing career, Thomas one on to coach the Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks as well as work as a broadcast commentator.
