In 2005, Swedish golfer Annika Sörenstam won the Kraft Nabisco Championship located in Mission Hills California. She was 8 strokes ahead of American golfer, Rosie Jones.
Sorenstam played professional golf for 26 years. During her career, she won 90 worldwide tournaments, 72 of those were the LPGA Tour, and 10 of them were majors. She was named player of the year eight times and remains the only female golfer to shoot a 59 in an LPGA tournament.Â
In 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, and 2002 she won the Solheim Cup and in 1995 she won the Athlete of the Year award in Sweden. In 1995096 she won the U.S. Women’s Open and in 1995, 1997098, 2001-02 she was named the Rolex Player of the Year.Â
In 1995-96, 1998, and 2001-02 she also won the Vare Trophy for recording the lowest scoring average. In 2001, she won the Nabisco Championship and she set or tied 20 different LPGA records. She ended up having a total of 42 official and two unofficial total career victories overall.
