On this day in 1999, Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard Dell Curry reached 1,000 3-pointers when he sank a basket in a 106-78 win over the Golden State Warriors. The 15th pick in the 1986 NBA Draft, Curry was a sharpshooter and one of the league’s top sixth-man throughout his career. Curry played in the NBA from 1986-2002, and is most recognized for his 10 seasons with the Charlotte Hornets. At the time of Curry’s retirement in 2002, he was the Hornets’ all-time leader in points (9,839) and three-point field goals made (929). Curry ranks no.65 on the NBA All-Time 3-Pointers Made Leaders list with 1,245. Curry is currently a broadcaster for the Charlotte Hornets and has two sons who both currently play in the NBA.
