It is referred to as the “Body Bag Game” because Philadelphia’s defense knocked nine Washington players out of the game, and an Eagles player asked one injured Washington athlete if they needed more body bags. The physical defense of the Eagles in this game symbolized how talented and devastating Ryan’s defenses could be.
