Today in Sports History: November 5

After a 17-month hiatus from boxing, heavyweight George Foreman came back with a surprising win over Michael Moorer. Foreman was the underdog on this title card, he was a few months shy of 46 and hadn’t held the heavyweight title since he lost to Muhammad Ali two decades earlier. Moorer was a compositely-spry heavyweight with a 35-0 record. In the tenth round, Foreman threw a TKO punch and defeated Moorer. This win was the last in his career, Foreman conceded his next bout to Tony Tucker and retired in 1997.
