On this day in 2019, Simone Biles became America’s most decorated gymnast in history when she won a record 25th medal at the World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany. At 23-years-old, Biles currently has a combined total of 30 Olympic and World Championship medals. She is only three medals away from becoming the most decorated gymnast of all time. In the 2016 Olympics, Biles won gold in the Team event, All-Around, Vault, Floor Exercise, and a bronze in the Balance Beam. Biles performance in the 2018 World Championships, made her the first American female gymnast to have won a medal in every event in a single Olympics and World Championship.
