On October 14, 1992, the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Oakland Athletics 9-2 in Game 6 of the ALCS to advance to the franchise’s first World Series. In winning the ALCS, the Blue Jays became the first team outside of the US to win a pennant in either league. Toronto went on to win the World Series, defeating the Atlanta Braves in six games. The Blue Jays would also win the World Series in 1993, becoming the first team in the MLB to win back-to-back World Series since the Yankees in the 70s. The team was led by players like Joe Carter, John Olerud, Roberto Alomar, and Juan Guzman.
