Today in Sports History: October 18

On October 18, 1977, Mr. October Reggie Jackson hit three home runs in three consecutive at-bats in Game 6 to help the Yankees beat the Dodgers in the World Series. He was named World Series MVP for the second time in his career, and was the first player to hit three home runs in a World Series game since Babe Ruth. He has since been joined by sluggers Albert Pujols and Pablo Sandoval. The legendary slugger was a 14-time All-Star, a five-time World Series champion, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame on the first ballot.
