Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf continued his free throw streak by sinking his 53rd shot during a 1994 Denver Nuggets versus Phoenix Suns game. Abdul-Rauf also completed free throw streaks of 53 and 81 – making him the second player, behind Bill Sharman, to have three free throw streaks of 50 or more during a single season. He made a memorable appearance in the 1993 NBA Slam Dunk Contest and ended the season with a .956 free throw percentage; the third-highest seasonal percentage in NBA history. Abdul-Rauf is known as one of the league’s most accurate shooters and played for the Sacramento Kings and Vancouver Grizzlies as well as various international leagues. He currently plays BIG3 basketball with for the Three Headed Monsters.
